About Alec Isaacson

Alec and his wife, Cheryl Makoroff Isaacson, moved to Beachwood in 1999.  They chose the city for the same reasons as many of you – excellent city services, outstanding schools, and low taxes.   They both live and work in Beachwood.

He is an Information Technology consultant for a software company. His primary job is to understand how my customers do business and how we can make them more efficient, productive, and responsive.

As a member of city council, Alec:

  • Worked with our schools to give our community two brand new school buildings while keeping our property tax rates flat.  Our property tax rates will remain flat until at least 2030.
  • Delivered important community improvements including infrastructure projects to reduce flooding and new community amenities, including solar-powered streetlights.
  • Sustainably managed our finances, which gave us the flexibility to seize key growth opportunities which will add new housing stock and businesses to our city.
  • Ensured our safety forces were ready to address any challenges they might face.

Alec and Cheryl and have two children Emily (BHS ’21) and Noah (BHS ’25 – now at the University of Cincinnati).

Alec and his family and are active members of Park Synagogue, where Cheryl is a past-member of their board.  Cheryl has held various roles with the Beachwood PTO, Friends of the Beachwood Orchestra, and other community organizations.
